This works soundly until you consider that many people have traumatic memory; which by its nature is changeable, and literal nature of memory is a fabrication of events through people's lense of narrative, and belief.

It seems that trying to ascertain whether someone is lying to you is moving from distrust, and the authoritarian control model. This isn't a great strategy for connection.
